The Sabra carpet, made from Aloe Vera fibers, feels and looks like silk and is therefore called cactus silk. It is handwoven by Berber women in the High Atlas of Morocco. Every woman makes her own carpet and embroiders traditional Berber characters on it. In this way she writes down her story / message, based on a rich history and ancestral know-how. Each carpet is therefore a personal and unique piece, and is much more than a work of art or a utensil. It is a silent witness of the collective memory of the Berber women.
The cactus fibers are coloured with natural pigments including saffron, poppy and mint. They are soaked in large pots, hence the richness of soft nuances. The faded colours are obtained by washing the carpet several times and bleaching under the bright African sun. The fibers are so strong that the surface is almost impossible to break.
The Sabra can be used as a floor or wall carpet.

Keep your Sabra rug free of dirt and dust by vacuuming carefully. Do not use a vacuum cleaner with a soft or rotating brush. Only use the suction power of the vacuum cleaner (soft cution). Don’t run your vacuum cleaner over the fringe because it may snag the fibers and unravel or tear them off.
When spilling a liquid on your carpet, try to remove it immediately. You can put soda powder on it to absorb the liquid. Wait 20 minutes and then vacuum the soda. If the stain is already drawn in the carpet, whip it in with cold water or a mixture of water and vinegar.
